Day 30...Dear Mr. President...Stop the Madness, you cannot negotiate with the GOP!

Day 30

Dear Mr. President,

Last December you signed legislation that would extend the Bush Tax Cuts to the 2 percent of the highest earning Americans, at a cost of $120 Billion dollars over the next 2 years. At the time we were fed a line of bull from the GOP that those 2 percent were the ones that would create jobs, and help thousand of the unemployed find work. Where are those jobs? What jobs have the top 2 percent receiving the tax cuts created? I repeat… Where are those jobs?

And now Mr. President, the GOP is insisting that Medicare is what’s driving up the federal deficits. What’s driving up the deficits are the tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans, the obscene cost of multiple undeclared wars, and high unemployment.

Here’s what I’m seeing… No tax increases on those that can afford it the most, no reigning in of Wall Street speculators, No new jobs being created or even talked about by anyone in the GOP after insisting the tax breaks create jobs, and no “shared sacrifice” by anyone except the middle class.

In addition, the cost of higher education is escalating at an unprecedented rate making it unaffordable for average families. The infrastructure in this country is crumpling. Unions are being assaulted right and left. In state after state concerted efforts by the GOP are underway to deny certain groups the right to vote. A woman’s right to choose or even have access to birth control is being attacked and systematically dismantled by the GOP as well.

This has got to stop! You have got to corral the Democrats someway, somehow, and STOP trying to negotiate with the GOP. McConnell, Boehner, and Ryan are not your friends. You cast that vote back in December as evidence that both parties can work together… when are you going to learn?  IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

The deficit is exploding because we are hemorrhaging the blood America’s young men and women, and hemorrhaging Trillions of dollars on unsustainable wars. When is this madness going to stop?

You can fix the deficit problem by bringing home the troops, putting them to work rebuilding America… Invest in our children by building new schools and bringing the cost of higher education under control. Rebuild our manufacturing base, and make America a leader again. Make us proud to be Americans, make us proud of this country instead of angry at other countries because that’s where our hard earned dollars are being wasted.

Wake up Mr. President and be our leader we voted for… or you will be, a one term President! You cannot afford to waste time negotiating with anyone in the GOP.
